2019 Women’s GCWC – entry update

Women’s Golf Croquet World Championship

Hawkes Bay, New Zealand – Saturday, 2 February to Saturday, 9 February 2019

Following the passing of the Closing Date on Sunday, 23 September 2018, 18 Membership Places and 34 Ranking Places have been awarded.  The names of the 52 players are set out below.

The Event Capacity is 56.  The four unallocated places will now be available for the top four finishers in a Qualifying Tournament.

2019 Women’s GCWC – Ranking Places announced

Women’s Golf Croquet World Championship

Hawkes Bay, New Zealand – Saturday, 2 February to Saturday, 9 February 2019

Following the passing of the Response Date on Sunday, 29 July 2018, 20 Membership Places and two Wild Card places were requested by eight WCF Members and 76 players were nominated for Ranking Places.  The Event Capacity is 56.

The players for whom Wild Card Places were requested (Grace Mohi (NZL) and Eleanor Ross (NZL)) have both qualified to receive Ranking Places.  Accordingly, 36 Ranking Places are available and the names of the players to whom they have been awarded are set out below.

The WCF Members which have requested Membership Places are reminded that the names of the players to whom they have been allocated must be notified to the Secretary-General by no later than midnight on the Closing Date, Sunday, 23 September 2018.  Any Membership Place that is not taken up by then will become an additional Ranking Place and will be awarded to the player on the Reserve List with the highest 12 month Maximum Grade on the Closing Date.

The Ranking Places will be awarded to the players (see note) with the highest 12 month Maximum Grades as at midnight on the Allocation Date, namely Sunday, 12 August 2018.  The names of these players will be announced on the WCF website and directly to the relevant WCF Members on the Announcement Date, Sunday, 26 August 2018.

Note: The actual number of Ranking Places awarded will depend on whether (a) any Wild Card places are awarded and (b) all Membership Places requested are required.

5th Edition GC Rules published

The 5th Edition of the WCF Rules of Golf Croquet were approved by the WCF Council on 8 July 2018.  Links to the text of the new Rules and two explanatory documents may be found here

WCF GC Rules 5th Edition - Official Rulings

The new Rules are immediately effective in relation to WCF Events and so will apply to the forthcoming Over-50 Golf Croquet World Championship (Egypt, October 2018), Women's Golf Croquet World Championship (New Zealand, February 2019), Under-21 Golf Croquet World Championship and Golf Croquet World Championship (July/August 2019).

WCF Members are responsible for determining when the new Rules come into effect in relation to domestic competition.

 

2018 O50 GCWC Reserve List

The Reserve List as at 30 June 2018 is as shown below.

Any player may apply via their WCF Member to be added to the Reserve List.

If a vacancy in the Event occurs up to midnight BST on Sunday, 23 September 2018, the place will be offered to the highest-placed player on the Reserve List ordered by 12 month Maximum Grade at midnight on the day on which the vacancy is notified to the WCF.  If that player cannot take up the place, it will be offered to other players on the Reserve List in descending order of 12 month Maximum Grade.
