2020 Golf Croquet World Team Championship Tiers 3

Tier 3 - 2020 GC World Team Championship - to be held 20th to 23rd July 2022

This event will now take place at the Guildford & Godalming Croquet Club between 20th to 23rd July 2022.

Teams representing Iran, Mexico, Portugal and Czech Republic are expected to compete.

As this delayed team event is part of the Tier 1 to Tier 3 2020 Championships, some of which were held in either 2020 or 2021, we will continue to call it by its 2020 heading. Trophies may be awarded with 2020 date.


Sadly, the pandemic is still causing some disruption. The Management Committee reviewed the current situation in late March and have agreed that this event should go ahead as planned. However, should the situation change, we will review as needed.

Thursday 21st to Saturday 23rd July - Championship

Key Dates

Team Announcement Date – 19th May. This is the date by which Members are required to name the players selected for their teams or squads. A team for the GCWTC consists of four players but you are entitled to select a squad of up to six players from which to select a team of four for each Test Match.

Entry Fee due date - 19th May.

Team Seeding Date - 19th June. The MC will advise the seeding and the draw on this date.

The format will be all-play-all. Each team will play a match against each other team. Some double banking may be used if necessary to ensure the tournament runs to schedule.

Food and drink
Food will be available at the Club for a daily rate of £12 (all-day tea/coffee/soft drinks plus lunch and afternoon tea). For those wishing to supply their own food, a ‘drinks only’package will be available at £3 per head.
The Club does not have a licence to serve alcohol, but teams are welcome to bring and consume their own alcoholic beverages.

Opening function
There will be an opening function with the teams, officials and local dignitaries in the early evening of Wednesday 20th July at the Club.

Closing function
Following close of play and presentation of prizes on Saturday 23rd July there will be an informal dinner at a local inn. All team members and officials will be invited.
