2018 Association Croquet World Championship

The 2018 Association Croquet World Championship (“ACWC”) will be held at the Kelburn Croquet Club in Wellington, New Zealand (and other venues) from Saturday, 3 February to Sunday, 11 February 2018 in accordance with version 4.8 of the Event Regulations and version 8.8 of the Sports Regulations.

The Event Capacity will be 80.

A Qualifying Tournament will be held from Tuesday, 30 January to Thursday, 1 February 2018 from which the four highest-placed finishers will gain places in the ACWC. Details of the venue and how to enter the Qualifying Tournament will be made available in due course.

ENTRIES

The names of the players who have been awarded Ranking Places and Wild Card Places may be found here.

The names of the players on the Reserve List may be found here.

Replacement Ranking Places will be awarded to fill any vacancies arising from withdrawals or unfilled Membership Places on 25 September 2017 and on any later date on which a vacancy arises until the Cut-Off Date (see below).

 

TIMETABLE

CLOSING DATE: Sunday, 24 September 2017

This is the last date on which Members can nominate players for Membership Places requested on or before the Response Date. Any Membership Place which has been requested by a WCF Member but not taken up by the Closing Date will become an additional Ranking Place.

QUALIFYING TOURNAMENT ALLOCATION DATE: Sunday, 3 December 2017

Entries for the Qualifying Tournament received by this date will be accepted in ranking position order as shown in the Qualifier Ranking List which is itself calculated as at the end of the QTAD. If the Qualifying Tournament is over-subscribed on this date, unsuccessful entrants will be placed on a Qualifying Tournament Reserve List, also in ranking position order.

CUT-OFF DATE: Sunday, 17 December 2017

This is the date after which any returned Ranking Places or Wild Card Places are filled by creating extra Qualifying Places.

QUALIFYING TOURNAMENT CLOSING DATE: Sunday, 14 January 2018

This is the last date on which entries can be received to fill any vacancies in the Qualifying Tournament.  It is also the last date on which any returned Membership Places can be replaced by a player from the same country.
